Research Topic: Future of Shipping: Decarbonization and Digitalization in Maritime Innovation

The global shipping industry is undergoing a profound transformation, driven by the urgent need to decarbonize and embrace digitalization. Innovative strategies and technologies are essential for reshaping the maritime sector to address these pressing challenges effectively.  

In this context, several key themes are attracting global attention from researchers seeking to achieve a cleaner, greener, and more efficient maritime future. These include the development of innovative software solutions, the adoption of battery-powered vessels, and the advancement of alternative fuels. These technologies have the potential to revolutionize maritime energy systems and significantly reduce carbon emissions.  

This talk will draw on insights from high-impact research and real-world applications to present a compelling vision for the decarbonization and digitalization of the maritime industry.

Presenter Introduction

王海彬博士，英国思克莱德大学教师（Teaching Fellow in Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering, University of Strathclyde）。王博士主要专注于海运脱碳与数字化领域的研究，其工作致力于开发评估软件工具、推动替代船用燃料的应用，以及探索电池驱动船舶的潜力，以减少海运对环境的影响并提升运营效率。

王博士在国际知名期刊和会议上发表学术论文50余篇。他参与了8项欧洲地平线科研项目, 如包括SHIPLYS, TRAM, NH3CRAFT, LH2CRAFT, SAFECRAFT, Fleetfor55等. 他现为海事工程、科学与技术学会会员、英国碳捕获与封存研究中心会员, 并担任多个国际顶级期刊的编委及国际学术会议的组委会委员。
